My name is Rita Silva, a Portuguese creative visual artist, based in Algarve, Portugal. I’m a Graphic Designer, Videographer and Illustrator.

As a child if there was a pen in my hand, every wall, floor and curtain would be newly decorated… until I discovered paper as another way to clear the endless exciting images blooming in my head. My dad was also very grateful for this discovery.
As I got older all of this led to a Graphic Design graduation degree at ESTGP, and a Drawing and Illustration degrees at Universidade Lusófona and FBAUL.

After working for different companies as an illustrator, 2D and 3D animator and video-games concept artist, decided to create an indie studio with a partner, where we created the invigorating  puzzle game “Vizati”, which won numerous awards including 1º Prize at Microsoft XNA Pizza Night 2010. As part-time I would work as freelance graphic designer.

In 2014-2015 I was honored to work at one of the largest privately owned art dealers in the world – Park West Gallery – meeting international artists, such as Alfred Gockel, David Najar, Lebo. Being on this environment allowed me to gain understanding in depth and knownledge of works by the masters such as Picasso, Chagall, Rembrandt, Miró and Goya.

In 2016, I decided to expand my passion for art and color and add them to a new medium so that my customers can enjoy art a new way by placing art on items we use daily and wear. You can check my creative art studio Oficina da Rita.

2020 was a year with a lot of changes and art & design projects. So in 2021, I decided to separate graphic design from all my other artistic projects, and Antracite Studios was born. In the same year, I was invited to teach adobe software to twelfth grade of Multimedia and Design.

Living in Algarve, we have a lot of tourists and they look for a variety of events, some of them even plan their weddings here, so this gave me the chance to work on events graphic design. Thanks to all these experiences, I’m now a fulltime Art Director of my studios and projects.
