Hi there!

I wanna wish you all a Happy New Year!
I’ve been working on some new stuff and soon I will be able to show you. For now I just keep drawing and working on my thesis about videogames:

Well I’ve been working in some projects in which I have to represent “the mark” on paper… It basically can be anything… so have been making some experiences and trying to figure out which ones show a better and more interesting result on paper with the use of different instruments, materials and supports.

I don’t know why, but I really like the result of these 2 drawings/paintings. Maybe I have to work a little bit more on the technique but the mark is here:

This is a birthday present that I offered to a friend of mine and it’s huge.
It has 841mm x 1782mm.
Technique: Graphite, watersoluble graphitone, natural graphite blocks, graphitint and watersoluble graphite sketching.

Well it has been a while since my last post, but here some drawings of what I’ve been working so far.
I have some other works that are not finished, but soon has I can I will add them to my portfolio.
This first drawing is a batfish and the technique is watercolor (but isn’t finished yet!), the last drawing was made with spots 10% black.

Well… lately I’ve been so busy, that I’ve forgot complety that only takes 3 minutes to write a post a share with you.
This year I did a lot of work that I didn’t think I could be capable of, I could not imagine that when we love something and embrace it, something good can come in return.
I’ve been working on new projects, that soon I will share with you.

I would like to thank everyone who supported me along the way, and all the projects that I made, which makes me remeber of Mister David, without him some of my works could not be possible…. errr…. ok… they could be possible but wouldn’t be interactive among other stuff .

Soon Different Pixel will bring something new

Drawings & Communication – game experience

Well, lately I’ve been working on new projects, which I will share with you later. I’m drawing more than ever, like more than 9 hours p/day everyday, trying to do a bunch of scenarios that all together make a huge village.
I know that I really need to update my portfolio online, but there are somethings that can only be revealed in time.
But I’m enjoying this, despite being hard and sometimes a little bit frustating when you don’t have the idea that you need to finish it or when you are drawing so many details and you think they’re cool ‘coz you spent so many time doing that, and someone comes and asks what it is… Damnnnnn.. it’s so important that the communication works and that most of the people understand what you’re doing.
Since I started to do art for games, I realized that the beauty is cool but to pass to the player the information needed is a little bit more difficult and very very important. If the player doesn’t understand what is the porpose of the game (doesn’t understand your drawings or your tutorials) then the game can be a great piece of art but he won’t work, it will have a huge gap between the player and the interface.
When we do something we need to think, that not everybody thinks and acts like us.
But well… These are some of the things that I realized after my first selling game experience, that we (as a team) are trying to avoid and improve much more hoping that the end result will be much better than the last one.
